This webinar covers what is an eating disorder, the key signs and symptoms, risk factors that contribute to the development of an eating disorder, what is the impact (and why is it a crisis), setting up for treatment and starting well, and we cover the different stages of treatment. Dietetic Session: Nutritional guidance for young people with eating disorders

The second webinar, delivered by senior dietitians, provides nutritional guidance to support young people in their recovery from an eating disorder. In this webinar, we explore what is the difference between disordered eating and an eating disorder, what happens to the body and brain with malnutrition, why food is the medicine in recovery, nutritional requirements for recovery and nutritional requirements for weight restoration. Delivered by a senior clinical psychologist, the third webinar in the series covers how to provide meal support and manage distress. The topics include the rationale behind providing meal support, understanding temperament and personality traits, the key principles of meal support & meal coaching, managing emotional distress and intervening in the moment. The final webinar in the series, delivered by a senior clinical psychologist addresses different carer coping styles and how certain response patterns can assist the recovery process. In this webinar, we cover the importance of carers in recovery, recognising and interrupting unhelpful relational patterns, carer coping styles, caring for the carer, and where to from here including systems of care, referral databases and support networks.
